The Search Begins
In 1937, the Nobel Prize for medicine was awarded to the
father of nutritional science, Dr. Albert Szent Gyorgyi, for discovering
Vitamin C. He was the first scientist to isolate the active
ingredient in oranges and limes. It was known that these fruits cured
scurvy, which was a common disease of sailors during the 19th
century.
After conducting additional research, the doctor
was astonished. He
discovered that although scurvy patients recovered when they
consumed an orange, they did NOT recover when they were given
the isolated form of vitamin C, which is ascorbic acid. This
disappointed Dr. Szent
Gyorgyi because he was confident he had found an efficient
way to cure this disease.
Dr. Szent Gyorgi diligently pursued
the answer to his discovery and spent the next 45 years
conducting scientific research
trying to find the solution.
The 1999 Nobel Prize for Medicine.
In 1999, Dr. Gunter Blobel
was awarded a Nobel Prize for his research when he discovered the exact
mechanisms of how nutrients
are transported into the cells of our bodies.
He discovered
this amazing information after spending 20 years researching just one question, "How
do proteins know where to go in the body?"
It was discovered that nutrients
inside food are bound by many other essential elements, such as proteins,
carbohydrates,
and lipids (fats), which are called carrier co-factors.
The most important of these co-factors are the proteins. Proteins were discovered
to contain unique signals that act like
a zip code to transport the attached nutrients to the cells
that need
them.
These proteins are called protein chaperones because
they take nutrients to the cells with them. There are many different
protein chaperones, depending on which vitamin or mineral
needs to be transported
to which of the various cells.
If you want calcium to
get into your bones, then the calcium you take must have the
appropriate protein chaperone
attached, otherwise it won't know where to go! The appropriate
carrier
co-factors must be
present for the body to absorb, utilize, and retain
all the nutrients bound inside the food.
This was the answer to
Dr. Szent Gyorgyi's mystery of why ascorbic acid did not cure scurvy,
but oranges and limes did!
Without the attached protein chaperone, and all the other co-factors,
the body could not
utilize the isolated chemical nutrient (ascorbic acid)
well enough to cure scurvy.
An Amazing Solution
In the late 1970's, a former student of the great Dr.
Albert Szent Gyorgyi named Dr, Andrew Szalay, uncovered the
solution. After
devoting much of his life to the continuing research
of his former teacher, he developed the first whole food
supplement. Unfortunately,
it was not the entire answer. Determined
to find the solution, in 1990 Dr. Szalay finally
developed a special process that extracted
the nutrients from food and then re-natured
those nutrients by infusing them back into a living
plant.
Through this process, he was able to develop concentrated
nutrients, all bound
together with all the co-factors of the nutrients
intact. This was a major advancement in nutritional
science.
In order for Dr. Szalay to accomplish this,
all of the major vitamins and minerals had to be researched
to discover
the hundreds of co-factors and protein chaperones required
to carry
these nutrients
directly to where they are needed in your body. It
was a major undertaking.
Dr. Szalay protected his discovery
and work with several international patents and his work has now been trademarked
as
FoodMatrix™. This
new technology is revolutionizing the field of
nutritional supplementation and is available to you.
Over 50
independent clinical studies prove FoodMatrix products
to be far superior to isolated chemical nutrients,
because the nutrients in these FoodMatrix products are in
a form that your body recognizes - WHOLE
FOOD.
These independent studies show:
- FoodMatrix™ products are up to 5 times better
absorbed.
- FoodMatrix™ products are up to 16 times better
utilized.
- FoodMatrix™ products are up to 16 times longer
retained.
